Harvest and location

This mountain honey is harvested during the month of June and early July. Bees forage on this rhododendron moor which is located at an altitude of more than 1,800 meters, on a transhumance site in the preserved Vicdessos valley (Haute-Ariège, Pyrenees).

Composition and specificity of rhododendron honey

It is a monofloral nectar honey. However, it sometimes happens that we find raspberry there.

It has fine crystallization, which makes it creamy.

Its sweetness is quite high, so you can use it to replace sugar for your homemade pastries.

Extraction and packaging

As with all the products I sell in this store, I always extract it cold. I package rhododendron honey in my honey house, in Montagagne (Séronais, Ariège) in 3 kg pots, or in 500 g pots for those who wish to vary the pleasures. It is not pasteurized.
